Peaceful chair

Take a seat in an old plastic chair and rest your legs after taking a gentle stroll around the lush green vegetation, and take a moment to gaze at the rainbow colours of the flowers and foliage that seem to smile at you, bobbing their heads in the wind as if to acknowledge your mission to find peace in this hectic life.

As you sit back and rest your spine, you focus on the gentle movement of the plants and trees around you. A small breeze picks up and you feel a few hairs move across your face. Brushing them away your ears pick out a sound.
Is that the sea you can hear gently travelling to and fro into the land, an animal moving through the forest or a distant gust of wind rustling through the trees? You ponder this, imagining you can zoom across the sky and into every sound. Suddenly your attention is brought back to your chair. Looking at the steady arm next to you, you notice a small creature crawling around, minding its own business and making its own delicate path in a kind of circle. Just as quickly as you realised it's presence it vanishes off into the grassy surroundings.

Taking a slow breath through your nose you can smell perfume, smoky and calming. It takes your memories to happy events, parties, places you spent time preparing to go to, dressing up your best, planning for months. Your mind wanders and you are reminded of good people and kind hearts.

A bird sings close by. Is this a song you recognise? Your mind replays the melody and you smile at the thought of being given this friendly ear worm by nature.

All is peaceful and wholesome here. You feel rewarded and happy for the choices that you made to bring you to this peace.
You realise that anything disturbing that happened in the past is acknowledged and far away from the here and now. As you relax deeper you feel at one with your life.

Letting all this joy and contentment soak in, you sit now for as long as you feel you need just smiling, breathing and relaxing your soul. You feel like a human battery charger replenshing it's energy.

Distracted again you notice a butterfly as it catches your eye and dances in the sunlight, flashing its colours and somehow it seems to quite skillful in it's fluttering path as if it has had pleanty of practice. The wind blows a little and you watch the butterfly take advantage of the breeze to reach new heights. Its path takes your eyes to the sun that is starting to set. You decide its time to go. Lifting yourself from tyhe chair you casually wander back to where you left off.

Carry this moment with you as you go on through life, knowing that this deeply relaxing feeling is only a thought away.

Introduction to RAE

This blog is dedicated to my writing. I'm creating a collection of short read-along meditations to help escape the hustle and bastle of daily life.

Most meditations need to be learned or read to you and the purpose of read alongs is to help you escape in stories with no drama, no horror, just pure fun and relaxation. Places you may want to go. Places you may have been.

As the writer I'm entirely baised in my choice of subject so what you see here is mainly what I like.
If you would like to suggest story themes, go ahead. I'd love to read them.
